Everyone knows Gatlinburg, the Gateway to the Smoky Mountains. In 2004, the citizens of Gatlinburg worked together to create the Gatlinburg Vision – an extensive wish list for the future of the city, covering everything from heritage and quality of life to transportation and business development. So extensive was the list, though, that prospects for implementing it became daunting. Impressed by how Chattanooga had managed to take a plan and get it done, the Gatlinburg Gateway Foundation asked us to reconvene the public to prioritize their visions. Few cities we work with are blessed with the kind of natural beauty Gatlinburg possesses. Now they have public private partnership totally committed to developing a city that befits the breathtaking environment in which it is situated.
