The Main Street District on Chattanooga, Tennessee’s south side boasted a number of ambitious and energetic property owners and developers but lacked a cohesive plan for the redevelopment of the mixed-use district. KCRW led a design charrette among neighborhood stakeholders and then created a district master plan to inform private development and jump-start public infrastructure improvements. Main Street is now generally acknowledged as the hottest spot in Chattanooga’s ongoing urban resurgence.
