As a member of Hargreaves & Associates’ team, KCRW led a series of public meetings to envision and plan the future for Knoxville’s south riverfront. KCRW also provided peer review for urban design (see Urban Design work) and consulted on implementation strategies. The citizen process included the gamut of south waterfront businesses, corporations and long-time residents. The result was a process described by residents and civic leaders alike as one of the most inclusive and attentive design activities they could have imagined. The plan was adopted by the city in 2006 and the first five-year phase is being implemented.
